Life Support Foundation is invited to participate at the annual conference of the Swedish Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care “SFAI-veckan” in September 2016.
SFAI’s annual conference (Svensk Förening för Anestesi och Intensivvård) will take place in Karlstad on the 21-23 of September, and will include a one-hour long symposium in Global Anaesthesia and Intensive Care organized by Life Support Foundation.
– This is a great opportunity for us to draw attention to the issues that we are working with. The needs within the field of anaesthesia and intensive care are enormous in low resource settings. For example, there are only 20 Anaesthesiologists in Tanzania, with a population of 50 million people, compared to 2400 in Sweden! All opportunities for knowledge exchange and cooperation need to be utilized in efforts to save lives, says Dr Tim Baker, Chairman of Life Support Foundation.
The SFAI conference will include a broad scientific program and many workshops. The printed program is replaced by an App, through which delegates can plan their participation, ask the lecturers questions and record and share presentations.
The local organizing committee is the AnOPIVA Clinic at the Central Hospital in Karlstad and the conference will be held at the CCC.
