CRISPOS Study: Understanding Global Critical Illness and Sepsis for Better Care Planning

The research project ”Critical Illness and Sepsis Prevalence & Outcomes Study” (CRISPOS) started in February 2017 at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi. The project aims to determine how many patients are critically ill in hospitals globally, and to investigate their outcomes.

CRISPOS will generate new knowledge about global critical illness and can be used to improve the planning of hospitals and health services, leading to better care and saving lives.

Over 1400 patients are included in the study and will be followed-up until they are discharged from the hospital.
