Life Support Foundation launched the research project ”Critical Illness and Sepsis Prevalence & Outcomes Study” (CRISPOS) last week at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi. The project aims to determine how many patients are critically ill in hospitals globally, and to investigate their outcomes.
– CRISPOS will generate new knowledge about global critical illness and can be used to improve the planning of hospitals and health services, leading to better care and saving lives, said Dr Tim Baker, Principal Investigator of CRISPOS.
Over 400 patients were included and will be followed-up until they are discharged from the hospital.
